I’m in the middle of finishing my track by track review of Lady Gaga’s new album Born This Way which I’m this time is 100% certain will be posted tomorrow. So I just thought I should pop in and tip you off about an early Moby song since the guy released his tenth studio album, Destroyed, earlier this month. It’s actually as early an official Moby album cut as you could get. Go is from his 1992 eponymous debut album of which I feel pretty alone about thinking is one of his best. The song finds a middle-ground between rhythmically intricate drums inspired by the rave culture, the ambient of the early 90s and what Scott Plagenhoef of Pitchfork called proto-chillwave. It’s a hypnotic techno jam perfect for travelling by car or train. I’m surprised how modern it sounds and how well it actually stands next to the works of some of the best indie electronic producers of today like Panda Bear, The Field and Burial.

And make sure to watch the 90s-kind-of-trippy that, a bit surprisingly, stands very well next to, or most of the times surpasses, the trippy music videos of today!
