I’ve been meaning to write about this for a long time now, but never got around til now. Huh. Anyway, here’s the scoop. Two guys have set off for a Mongolian Mixtape Marathon this July 11th. That is to say, they take an off-road car filled with educational stuff and clothing and drive all the way from London to Mongolia to then donate the car to the Mongolian people who so desperately need cars in their vast land. On the way there they will listen to x number of mixtapes sent in by DJs and producers all over the world. To submit a mixtape you’d have to donate at least £1 to contribute to the fellers’ costs and fuel as well as making them able to donate this car.

This marathon of theirs is part of the Mongolian Charity Rally that raises money for Save The Children who are working on improving the standards for the children of Mongolia. Isn’t it great? I wish I could do something like that. Experiencing the Mid-Asian landscapes and listen to some awesome mixtapes for charity. I think it’s a brilliant project. Not least because these mixes will be podcasted to the world and people will be able to hear the mixes at least one year on the site after the guys return.

Interested in reading more? They’ve got a road blog too! Check out Mongolian Mixtape Marathon!

Myself, I couldn’t submit a mix unfortunately and now it’s too late. But I can submit these reMIXes to you guys instead!
