A while ago, Air’s new track Do The Joy surfaced as a free download to the subscribers of their newsletter. Though stated that it’s only a promo single, it’ll take much for the long-time fans (including me) to not feel exuberant that the French duo is up to some more mellow mischief!
Do The Joy does exactly what its title suggests. It’s a classic Air track of lofty, electronic home-listening qualities that has enlightened my day since growing weary of thei back catalogue. The new album, which is called Love 2, will be released in late October and the first, real, proper single from the album will be Sing Sang Sung will be released August 25. As a tastemaker track Do The Joy is more than enough but for the album I suspect and hope that a more developed and ambitious version will kick off the sixth album of Air.
