Misinterpret me correctly here, that Andreas Tilliander released a new album under his own name this year is nothing but a triumph for me and many other fans of Swedish brilliance and mind-twitching electronic music. But was it really necessary with THIS many remixes of the lead single Caught In A Riot. I mean, it’s a great song and all, but there are few songs that are credible for 9 more or less official remixes. Tilliander’s label Adrian Recordings can make a whole full-length album with only remixes of CIAR! Especially as Karachi’s minimalist epic remake is a stunning 16 minutes long. Adrian Recordings did something similar to Familjen’s song Huvudet I Sanden, but that remix compilation featured a lot of remixes of other Familjen tracks as well, so I felt that it was a little inconsistent.
Either way I’m enjoying them all and I’m definitely enjoying Tilliander putting his showhat on throughout his new album Show. It’s dancey electronica that is as fun as it is intelligent. I’m only surprised that The Field hasn’t given his treatment yet.
