Of course Fever Ray’s debut album can’t recreate the haunting soundscapes of the clash between dream and nightmare of Silent Shout, but it’s nonetheless a suggestive and out-of-this-world experience that shouldn’t be missed this year. Dark, exotic and mysteriously calm, it comes across as rather heartless but not particularly evil either, and that’s what makes it a worthwhile and compelling listen despite being a little dry of ideas. I’ve never heard Familjen this gloomy, but if you’ve missed a beat and a little more rhythm in first single If I Had A Heart, the his remix is for you. Fuck Buttons fans won’t be disappointed as the noisy band gives another noisy treatment to a song, making the remix of If I Had A Heart sound like their original song. The remixes aren’t extremely recommended, but they’re available below for you to take them if you want them.
