After listening to Leonardus‘ The Womanizer EP I understand what a talented up and coming house producer he really is in blogterms, not least after his Daft Punk remix. No, the EP does not contain remixes of Britney’s awful 2008 hit, not even the track Womanizer is. And no, the track Smile is not a version of Lily’s lovely 2006 hit. And my gosh, Sweet isn’t even alluding at all to the British glam rock group! I do know however that the three tracks are incredibly infecious French touch filter house where Leonardus has taken all his heroes and shoved them into a blender and tenderly pressed the start button. Daft Punk, Cassius, Le Knight Club, Fred Falke, Alan Braxe all fit into this homage to all things good about funky bass heavy electronic dance music française. It’s music that can’t help if you get some tonight if you play it. I can’t help thinking what this youngster will be conquering, wether he like it or not, through putting out delicious sexy music like this - hence the name Womanizer I guess. At least I know I’m signing up for following this Dutch feller’s future accomplishments, how about you?

What can I say? A worthy successor has arrived!
